Synopsis of the Conference
The International Conference on Cognitive Research on Translation and Interpreting (ICCRTI)started in 2014 at the Centre for Studies of Translation, Interpreting and Cognition (CSTIC), University of Macau. Since then, sevenconferences have been held at the University of Macau (2014-2016), Beijing Foreign Studies University (2017), Renmin University of China (2018),Southwest University (2019)and Wuhan University of Technology (2021). The conference has become an international forum for the presentation and discussion of up-to-date cognitive research on translation and interpreting.
The8th International Conference on Cognitive Research on Translation and Interpretingwill be held at Chongqing University from November 11-13, 2022.Organizersinclude the School of Foreign Languages and Cultures,Chongqing University; the Research Center for Language, Cognition and Language Application, Chongqing University;andtheCentre for Studies of Translation, Interpreting and Cognition, University of Macau. Around 15 renowned scholars from home and abroad in the field of translation, interpreting and cognition will be invited to give keynote speeches at the conference.
The theme of this year's conference is "Translation, Interpreting, Cognition and Brain Science", with 10 parallel sessions covering the following topics: "Modelling cognitive process of translation and interpreting", "Methodology in cognitive research on translation and interpreting", "Corpus approach to translation and interpreting", "Sociological approach to translation and interpreting processes", and "Cognitive neuroscience of translation and interpreting".
Coveringa wide range ofnewtopicsinup-to-date cognitive researchontranslation, interpreting andcognition,thisyear’s conferenceprovides translationresearchers with a platform ofcommunicationand promotes the further development of internationalresearch ontranslation, interpreting andcognition.

Submission of Abstracts
We invite papers on one of the conference themes or related topics in cognitive translation studies. The language of the conference will be English. The submission deadline is 15 September 2022. Intended participants will fill in the form (including abstracts, participant’s names, affiliation and contact information) and submit to the conference email: [email protected].
Registration and Fees
Registration is required for all presenters and participants of the conference. The standard registration fee for the conference is 900 RMB. The registration fee for full-time students (copy of student ID required) is 450 RMB. ThefreePre-conference Workshop on CognitiveneuroscienceofTranslation and Interpreting will be provided. Please note that the fee covers the conference pack, refreshments, lunches and dinners during the conference and certificate for participation. The fee doesNOTcover travel, accommodations or other fees not specified. Conference Paper Awards (1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes, with prizes) will be offered to outstanding contribution from the participants. Participants who register for the Paper Awards should submit their full papers in English (8,000-10,000 words) by 30 October. APA format is required.
